The Refining Process of Vegetable Oils
2024-08-27
The refining process of vegetable oil is an important part of ensuring the quality of oil, improving the stability of oil and extending the shelf life.
1. Pretreatment: Before refining, vegetable oil needs to be pretreated to remove impurities and foreign matter.
2. Neutralization (deacidification):
Free fatty acids (FFA) in vegetable oil need to be removed because they affect the quality and taste of the oil.
FFA is converted into soap stock by adding caustic soda (sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) for neutralization reaction.
The oil is heated to about 60 degrees Celsius and stirred thoroughly by a stirrer to promote the reaction.
3. Soap stock separation:
The soap stock formed after the reaction settles at the bottom of the neutralizer and is then separated and discharged.
4. Decolorization:
The decolorization process uses activated carbon and other bleaching agents to remove pigments from the oil and improve the appearance of the oil.
The oil is stirred at 110 degrees Celsius to ensure that the bleaching agent is evenly dispersed.
5. Filtration:
The decolorized oil is filtered through a filter press to remove white clay and chemical agents.
6. Deodorization: The deodorized oil enters the deodorization pot, heated to more than 110 degrees Celsius, and further heated to 200-220 degrees Celsius through steam and heat flow coils. It is carried out under high vacuum conditions to remove bad odors and volatile impurities in the oil. 7. Condensation and cooling: The deodorized oil enters the condenser, and the heat is taken away by the water circulation system to cool the oil. 8. Secondary filtration: The cooled oil is filtered again through the filter press to ensure the purity and transparency of the oil. 9. Packaging: The refined oil obtained in the end has good color and transparency and can be packaged and stored. Henan Huatai Oil Machinery and other companies have rich experience and technology in this field and can provide refining services for a variety of vegetable oils from sunflower oil to palm oil. The equipment used in the refining process, such as heat flow boilers, vacuum pumps, barometric condensers and steam generators, are interconnected through a sophisticated piping system to ensure the efficiency and automation of the entire refining process.
